SYFY Tumblr Relaunch Ads

My role: Illustration, animation
Creative Direction: Michael Ventimiglia, Brian Chin
Agency: VaynerMedia

These retro animated GIFs were created as ads for the relaunch of the SYFY tumblr. We found there was an overlap between the video game and SYFY audience. Each animation represents different geek fandom genres—science fiction, superhero, fantasy, and horror. These graphics do not have any copy or logos on it as it’s intended to not feel like an ad.

SYFY Geek Love Chapel CAMPAIGN

My Role: Design, animation
Creative Direction: Michael Ventimiglia, Jody Gowen, Brian Chin

For Valentine’s Day, several couples got married (or vows renewed) by Orlando Jones on Facebook Live. This campaign was intended to be a celebration of love and fandom. We created multiple pieces of social content to drive awareness.

General SYFY

Various content made for the SYFY social media channels. Each piece of content is a way to highlight the movies the network plays.

Gamifying content - promoting the Nightmare on Elm street film

SYFY had a panel at Comic-Con and this was a fun post that gave a nod to the fans who dress in costume

Wizarding World

Content that I’ve designed to support SYFY airings of Harry Potter films.

Football Carousel

My role: Design
Concept/Copy: Rob Sabalvaro

This was a carousel on IG–a reference to football season. Photoshopped the colors onto the helmets. The color corresponds to the house colors, and I comped the Wizarding World branded house art onto the football helmet. This post received a lot of engagement as fans were excited to shout out their house in the comments.

Gamified Wizarding Content

These graphics appeared on IG story (also on Facebook/Twitter), inviting the fans to interact with the social media account. This increases engagement—fans responding through their IG story is a way to raise awareness of film showings, and ultimately increase views for the network.
